Chickens Roosting

A man has taken hostages at a Hillary Clinton Campaign office in Rochester, New Hampshire. This is a dangerous situation and another big problem for Dem/libs.

We’re not sure who this guy is but some groups have claimed him.  Moveon.org, Code Pink, a Michael Moore fan club, and Howard Dean have claimed that the man is either part of their movement or a family member.  Terry McAuliffe said that the man is a registered Democrat.

How to get the guy out is a challenge. Dem/libs do not like police action and they don’t like violence. They don’t want to look bad by using force.  But Janet Reno did recommend firebombing the campaign headquarters immediately.  John Murtha said that police officers should not be called in because they will probably rape, pillage and murder a few people.  John Kerry said he has talked to some former officers who have sworn that that is what they saw when they were on the job.  Barack Obama declared that if the man will not cooperate, he will order bombing of the Kennedy Compound.  And Jimmy Carter advised leaving the man alone, removing the Mayor of Rochester, and boycotting the Olympics.

Let’s hope it turns out peacefully.

Left Jab, a Right to the Body

The Fair Tax has been introduced for a while now.  We will keep pushing that until even Democrat constituents understand it.  If we get the Fair Tax passed into law that will do a lot to get citizens to pay attention to where their tax money really goes and it should discipline reckless spending by consumers.  That's step one to correcting the course of America.

Step two is the introduction of a bill that would force cable companies to sell cable ala carte.  This bill is "The Family and Consumer Choice Act of 2007".  I can't believe I missed it but it was a busy summer. Anyway, I've been saying for years that one way to cure teenagers of being thuglike is to sell cable by the channel.  This way, some knucklehead in Sparrow Meadow, Nebraska won't get the idea that he is really a misplaced lowlife thug from the ghetto.  et Voila!  No more massive spread of bad lifestyles.  I doubt the vast majority of parents would spend money on harmful channels if they could just say "no" with their wallets.  Sure, they'll still watch "America's Got Talent" but how much harm can a yodeling gymnast do?

Between the two of these bills, I think we can improve America tremendously.  Next up: "Critical Thinking: It's Not Just for Conservatives".

I put this entry together kinda quickly so forgive the mixed metaphors.  Anyone who wants to understand the Fair Tax can learn all about it in The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz and John Linder.  Just go to your local public library and check it out.  You can probably reserve one online.

Praying for Rain

Governor Sonny Perdue led a prayer meeting for rain on the capitol steps this past Tuesday. This action made me wonder.  It's not the separation of church and state argument that gives me pause.  I couldn't care less what less-God people think about the legality of prayer by members of government.   If it were muslems or hindis or black folks praying, they would say nothing - being the brave lot that they are.  And it was good to see a leader exercise his rights and to show the rest of us that this is still America, and God is still God, and it's okay to pray in public.

No, what I wonder is if God is going to hear the prayers of the people when they have not confessed their sins completely.  Now the Governor almost had it right, in my opinion.  But not quite.   He said the real blame is that Georgians haven't conserved water as they should have. Hahaha.  That makes me laugh.  The Lord promises things in abundance to those who obey and worship Him.  And what does He do to those who don't?  Hmmmm.  I believe the Jews had a bit of a rough go of it for several years until they finally got the message.

I don't think our sin is not being good enough stewards of resources although I'm sure we can improve. Who couldn't?  The thing Governor Perdue should have done, along with all the preachers with him, was confess to God that we (being the state of GA) are guilty of corruption, lying, drunkeness, cheating, stealing, murder (abortion), mistreating the poor (keeping them trapped and hopeless via welfare) etc etc.  Once we admit, as a people, that we have done these things and we are sorry and repent of them then I think the prayer would be much more effective.

Also, as for hurricanes, earthquakes, fire, droughts and such, I don't necessarily think that God does these things to people.  God created weather and physics and science and math. Things are going to happen and usually in cycles.  Another thing, isn't the Devil the Prince of the Air and doesn't he rule over this world?  On the other hand, God swallowed up 10,000 people at a time when He was in a smiting mood.  Who knows for sure?  I mean, New Orleans got drowned out, NYC got attacked and Spitzer is governor, and half of California gets ruined every year so maybe He does try to send messages via the physical earth components.

One definite benefit of the prayer meeting: it drives the Libs nuts.

Mr. Bumble Was Right

Atlanta, GA

Brian Nichols is STILL on trial.  This is a man who, while waiting to go on trial for rape, overpowered a guard and went into a courtroom and shot the judge, a deputy, a court reporter, and a federal agent.  He did this in full view of a dozen people or more.  He's on film from cameras all over the Fulton County courthouse.  His guilt is not in question.  Nichols killed these folks back in March of 2005 and he has yet to be convicted.

You want to know why? Because the judge in this case, Hilton Fuller (retired), is an activist judge.  He has lost control of the case, postponed it several times, and backed every request by the defense attorneys.  Fuller is another guilty liberal denying justice to the public.  Here are a few excerpts from a newspaper account from the Atlanta Journal Contsitution:

"Judge Hilton Fuller, whose handling of the Fulton County Courthouse shooting trial has prompted the speaker of the House to threaten him with investigation and possible impeachment, has now incurred the wrath of a fellow judge who calls him a "fool" and a "disgrace.""

"The Journal-Constitution reported last week that Superior Court judges were complaining privately that Fuller had lost control of spending in the Nichols case, which has climbed to more than $1 million for his defense team.

Some have researched the law to find a legal way to remove Fuller."

"Last week, Georgia House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) set up a special committee to investigate whether Fuller has abused his discretion in the case and whether he should be impeached."

"Earlier this month, Fuller threatened to hold the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council in contempt for its failure to fork over more money for Nichols' defense.

He also ordered Fulton County to come up with more funds to support the defense, though that order was blocked by the Georgia Supreme Court in September.

So far, Fuller has postponed the trial four times, sometimes citing a lack of defense funding.

On Wednesday, Nichols' lawyers withdrew their motion to hold the state public defender council in contempt of court for failing to pay defense fees. Last month, the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council told Fuller it could not comply with the judge's order to continue funding Nichols' defense."

Last week, Fuller said the trial was in danger of being declared a mistrial due to lack of funds for the defense. This guy is BLAMING the Georgia taxpayers instead of doing his job - which is a fair and speedy trial!

I heard this on the radio the other day and I could not believe that we've come to a point where a judge has a 1-2-3 case and decides to drag it out for his own vanity/self interests.  I want the judge to go to jail.  I don't care if Nichols gets death or whatever but he should have already been sentenced.  We all know he did it.  This is Dante's version of the legal system.  Twain or Voltaire or Swift could not have written a better story of irony, satire and hypocrisy.

I tell ya, some days the price is really high for being civilized.

The Superbowl

The only game that counts this week is New England at Indianapolis.  New England is favored by 5.5.  Betcha didn't know that Indianapolis has beaten the Pats 3 times in a row, twice at New England.  Should be a great game.

I think the Colts are gonna win because their offense will keep Brady off the field way more than the other teams the Pats have faced.  When the Pats are up by 3 TDs, their defense can do all sorts of things to harass the other team - that won't be the case this with the Colts.  The Colts defense is good enough to put pressure on Brady.  The Pats defense has some weanesses which will shine through on Sunday.  For one, they can't stop the run and Addai will love it. And b) their old guys will get tired from being on the field for a longer period of time than when they are playing the likes of Mighty Cleo Lemon and his Redskins.

NE @ Indy         (5.5)        - Superbowl

Cincy @ Buf     pick 'em  - battle of the has beens

Den @ Det        (-3)         - take a picture, Day-twah is favored

GB @ KC        (-2)            - why is GB GETTING points?

SD @ Minn     (7.5)          - battle of the schizos

SF @ Atl    (-3)                   - worst game of the year?  It may be blacked out here due to lack of tix sales

Dall @ Phil  (3)                - Averagebowl or the NIT Championship game

Hou @ Oak  (-3)               - had to pick another game and St Loo is on a bye
